TESSAROL PRIMER FOR IRON

TESSAROL metal primer is an anti-corrosive primer intended for the protection of iron and steel surfaces from rusting. It is used for fences, windows, doors, and construction hardware in both indoor and outdoor spaces. It contains anti-corrosive pigments that protect the metal from corrosion, features excellent adhesion, and is easy to apply.

It is applied to previously cleaned and degreased surfaces. Rust must be mechanically removed, while grease and impurities should be cleaned with TESSAROL Nitro thinner. It can be applied by brush, roller, or spraying with thinning using TESSAROL thinner up to a maximum of 15%. Minimum working temperature is +5°C. Dust dry in approximately 5 hours, dry to touch in 6 to 8 hours, with an intercoat interval of 24 hours.

The coating is based on an alkyd binder, solvents, and pigments, with a matte finish. It covers 7 to 9 m2 per liter in a single layer, depending on the application method and the chosen shade. It is available in white, grey, and oxide red shades. It is not tintable.
A 0.2 L pack covers approximately 1.4 - 1.8 m2 of surface per single layer, depending on the structure and absorbency of the substrate. It is intended for smaller metal elements, repairs, and iron/steel details.
As a topcoat over this primer, TESSAROL enamel, TESSAROL enamel professional, TESSAROL radiator enamel, or TESSAROL acrylic enamel are used.
